Useful Tips for Travellers
The vibrant city of Cape Town offers the visitor a wonderful variety of activities, experiences and places to visit! From the spectacular Cape Peninsula tour mainly via the coast over the breath-taking Chapman’s Peak drive to the wonderful winelands of the Cape. The world heritage listed sites of Table Mountain and Robben Island, the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront or the famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens are certainly also worth a visit. There are super sandy beaches at Camps Bay, Clifton, Bloubergstrand or Muizenberg!
Travelling around Cape Town is generally quite safe, but it is advisable to be aware of your handbag, wallet, camera, and cell phone. Be very careful when drawing money at an automatic teller machine! It is wise to visit the townships with a qualified Guide but not at night.
The Southern Right whales can be viewed between June and November. The lovely seaside resort of Hermanus is most popular for viewing them from the coast or a boat trip is another good option! Whales come to Hermanus annually from the southern Atlantic and the Antarctic to mate and calve. It really is a sight to see and experience!
