A Four or Five Day Garden Route Adventure
We drive along Route 62 through the scenic towns of Robertson, Ashton, Montagu and Barrydale en route to Oudtshoorn. Here we shall visit an ostrich farm, the crocodile and cheetah ranch and the famous Cango Caves.
On day two we drive up the 1500m high road over the magnificent Swartberg Mountain Pass (which is the border between the Little and Great Karoo) and on to the town of Prince Albert for lunch. We drive via Meiring’s Poort back to Oudtshoorn. (This scenic drive is for the five day tour only).
On day three we travel to George over the Outeniqua Mountain Pass. We enjoy a boat cruise to the Knysna Heads (weather permitting) and visit the Garden of Eden to see the magnificent yellowwood trees and much more. Scenic walks can also be undertaken safely along the beaches and through the forests.
On day four we begin our return journey toward Cape Town. We visit the historic town of Swellendam and enjoy lunch in the old county jail and then head for home.
For a five day tour we include an overnight stay in Cape Agulhas which is the most southerly tip of the African continent.
